SHORTS

I bought a pair of Micklagard shorts because i enjoyed wearing the Hamra basic pants i bought last year. These being too hot in summer i bought a pair of shorts last spring. I've worn them most weekends last summer and they are very comfortable and sturdy. I like the two large cargo-pockets, always wondered why the Hamra pants have only one of them. Temperature wise i found out they were comfortable over the same temperature-range as the thick pure cotton workers-shorts i normally wear. For me very comfortable from 10 celsius to 20 celsius. The wadmal-fabric has the added bonus of not becoming wet as you sweat. My cotton shorts get wet when i sweat, you feel and even see it and drying takes a long time. On hot days i certainly felt hot and sweaty in the Micklagard shorts but they didn't get wet as the cotton ones do. I did not like the liner and took it out, a very easy thing to do. As i said i also have a pair of Hamra pants without liner so i knew i had no problem with wearing wadmal-fabric on my skin. Perhaps the liner could be made an option just as with the Hamra pants. So i am very pleased with my new shorts, i think they are well made, comfortable and build to last. Thank you team Micklagard for providing these nice, enjoyable garments.

Great cool weather shorts for the mountains. A bit heavy but well worth the weight when it cools down. Outstanding quality.

I wasn’t sure about these when ordering. Shorts are for hot weather!
Now that I have them and some other Micklaagard products, I am learning not to doubt.
For cooler warm weather, mountain hikes or damp conditions, these are great. They have a great fit and are very comfortable. The light liner makes them glide over your skin when walking. All the pockets are of good size and very functional. The knife pocket on both sides is awesome for your fixed blades. I also purchased Micklagaard’s new custom suspenders and find that they keep the shorts exactly where you want them and add to your new and unique Micklagaard look. Because let’s face it; there ain’t nothing else like it! Top notch!

On a recent trip in Norway, I wore these shorts while hiking from orchard valleys near the Fjords through steep trails to the mountain top. Weather was a steady drizzle of light rain and temperatures were in the mid 50s Fahrenheit. I was extremely comfortable wearing these. My thigh and buttock muscles were neither too hot nor too cold, just a nice stable temperature, thanks to the great Wadmal fabric. They never really got soaking wet and dried rapidly. The silky lining feels nice too. Large cargo pockets came in handy as well for carrying snacks and a water bottle, so I didn’t need a pack. Quality construction and details too like reindeer leather reinforcements make them as stylish as they are functional.
