I purchased this jacket for a trip to Iceland and I am more than glad that I did my research. I knew I wanted something made by a Nordic company in Scandinavia and I happened upon Micklagaard. I know the price is steep for some, but it's worth every penny. We encountered a particularly cold and wet week in Iceland and I couldn't have been more warm, dry, and happy. I watched as my colleagues shivered in their "high tech" apparel, while I was unscathed by the brutally cold and wet winds. The jacket completely repelled the weather while never making me feel like I was overheating. As a bonus, the outer layer dried easily during a meal inside. This is the perfect coat. It will last me a lifetime and then likely the lifetime of whichever lucky son inherits it. What a great product!
It will be a month or so until it's cold enough to start wearing this jacket, but what an incredible piece of kit. This is probably the highest quality piece of outerwear I own, and I have quite a collection. Can't wait for some cold weather.
